As part of the UAC-08160X series, it delivers the same long-range and reliable performance as full-size underwater acoustic modems, while offering flexibility for system developers and integrators.
Signal Processing & Modulation
- Digital data from host systems—such as subsea sensors, AUVs, or surface buoys—is fed into the module through standard serial interfaces (RS-232 / RS-485 / RS-422).
- The UAC-08160X-OEM applies advanced modulation schemes (MASS, SC-MPSK) to encode information onto acoustic carriers in the 8–16 kHz frequency band, enabling stable underwater acoustic communication across varying marine conditions.
Acoustic Transmission in the Marine Environment
- Once modulated, the acoustic signals are transmitted through water, covering ranges up to 10 km with data rates from 100 bps to 4 kbps.
- Operating in half-duplex mode, the system alternates between transmitting and receiving, ensuring efficient use of bandwidth.
